UNIVERSITY IMPROV GROUP is coming to our OUTreach meeting to do a show for us! This is our first 'Community Guest' meeting (it's a new thing we're doing this year) and I'm excited that we have such an awesome group coming in.

Who are they: The University of Alberta Improv Group (aka The Notorious UIG) has been active on the U of A campus for the past 6 years. Now entering our seventh season, we provide an opportunity for students and members of the community to learn and perform improv at the University and in and around the City of Edmonton.

The UIG has become notorious for our commitment to using improv as a tool for social outreach. Our club teaches workshops with schools, daycares, and summer camps that focus on applying the skills of improv to everyday life, through the tools of cooperation, conflict resolution, creativity and confidence. We work with other Student Groups, teaching the applicability of improv skills to whatever endeavour they commit to. Improv is more than just comedy, it teaches crucial skills that inspire the leaders of the future. This philosophy has made The UIG notorious.
